Worth Preserving offers full-service historic rehabilitation project planning and management for “properties of character” in the Hudson Valley. “Historic rehabilitation” is defined as:

the process of returning a property to a state of utility, through repair or alteration, which makes possible an efficient contemporary use while preserving those portions and features [that] are significant to its historic, architectural, and cultural values (US Secretary of the Interior Standards)

We help property owners (and their contractors, architects, etc.) face the challenges of bringing buildings into the 21st century while retaining the historic character that makes them special. From start to finish, we stand ready to coordinate all of the many moving parts of an old-house project—think plumbing, foundation work, window repair, a new roof, landscape—using our experience and network of trusted resources to navigate what can be a very complex and daunting process.

We believe that a well-considered, heartfelt historic rehab can be transformational not just for the building, but for the whole community and especially for the owners themselves. Worth Preserving makes what seems impossible possible.
